A YOUNG butcher returned to work today just two weeks after being involved in a serious accident.

Rhys Clifton, 20, was taken to Hereford County Hospital following the crash outside the Bell Inn in Tillington on November 22.

His colleagues at Oakchurch remained in contact with his family while he received medical care and were glad to welcome him back when he returned to Staunton-on-Wye today.

Nick Price, from Oakchurch, said: "We're delighted to see Rhys well on the road to recovery and back at work here at Oakchurch, albeit on light duties and reduced hours until he's fully recovered.

"We were in regular contact with Rhys and his family to ensure that he didn't come back to work until he felt ready to do so.

"He received a great welcome from his colleagues when he arrived for work this morning."

The other driver involved in the accident was discharged at the scene.
