AFTER an appeal in the Hereford Times, there has been a happy ending to a Hereford driver's hunt for a young woman he inadvertently drenched.
Ted Rawson said that he had not seen the pedestrian as he drove down Ledbury Road in a torrential downpour before Christmas.
"A taxi driver came to my car while I was stationary at the traffic lights, and explained what I had done," he said.
"I did drive back up Ledbury Road to try to find her, but to no avail."
However, after reading of Mr Rawson's appeal through this newspaper, Savannah Hotchkiss, who was walking by Foley Street when the incident happened, came forward.
So Mr Rawson was able to pass on his apologies, a card and £20.
And, as well as the belated happy outcome to her encounter with Mr Rawson, it turned out to be a doubly good day for Savannah.
She was on her way to take her driving test when she was splashed but still passed!
