BURGER King has applied for planning permission for a new restaurant in Commercial Street in Hereford.
The fast food chain has applied for a change of use from retail to a hot food takeaway at the former Lakeland shop.
The unit has been vacant since May of this year when Lakeland moved out.
Rumours of Burger King coming to Herefordshire have circulated for many years.
The application said if planning approval was given there would be 50 full-time employees.
The restaurant hours will be 6am to 11pm Monday to Sunday.
