A SLEEPY tawny owl dozes "without a care in the world" in Camera Club member Nigel Williams' clever picture within a picture.

Keen wildlife photographer Mr Williams said: "I’ve been interested in photography for a few years now, but only started getting seriously into it in the last 2 or 3 years.

"Like most people starting out in photography, you put the camera in auto mode and click away whilst looking at the back of the camera to find you’ve either missed the shot or it’s blurry. So, wanting to take full control of the camera in manual mode, I started learning my craft."

"To capture this photo, I did my homework, using word of mouth, photography and birding sites to try and find the location.

"Once I found the place, it took me a while to find the owl, looking at lots of trees in a field from every angle. By chance, I spotted something white about 50 feet up. Bingo!

"The smile on my face was a picture in itself, not just for finding the owl, but also seeing the owl asleep without disturbing it."

Mr Williams created the beautifully quirky image by first taking the photograph with his digital camera and then using his mobile phone's camera to capture the finished picture.
