A CAR dealer from Hereford has donated thousands of pounds to St Michael's Hospice following a year-long fundraising drive.

Ned Potter gave £25 to the Bartestree team for each car he sold in 2018 – helping raise £3,700.

Mr Potter, whose business is based on the Beech Business Park off the Roman Road, said the year was one of his most successful to date.

"2018 was my best year for a decade," he said.

"I’m delighted this will help St Michael’s, which is a cause close to my heart, and the hearts of many people across Herefordshire and beyond."

Over the course of the year, Ned sold 101 Volkswagen’s and 47 Skoda’s.

The businessman has taken part in a number of hospice fundraisers over the years, including RUN Hereford and the Wheelie Big Cycle.

"Support from businesses such as Ned Potter is invaluable to St Michael’s," said Paddy Nugent, the Hospice’s Community Fundraising Manager.

"We’d like to say a big thank you to Ned for this very generous offer and thank him for his continued support."
