KIDDERMINSTER Carolians bagged a big home win despite going behind early on in their fixture against Evesham RFC.

The visitors opened their account with a penalty but KCs responded quickly with a kick to the right wing by Freddie Morgan which allowed Kieran James to out jump his opposite number and score in the corner.

Kidderminster increased their lead when James added a second try from a flowing move in the backs after a quickly taken penalty.

The hosts were now in their pomp and quickly added another try when Rhys Pritchard crashed over after the the ball came out of a ruck following a Jess Smith run.

With 25 minutes gone the bonus point was secured when Kidderminster attacked from inside their own half, an overlap was created allowing Arthur Morgan to sprint clear of the cover defence and score in the corner.

Evesham applied pressure of their own but KCs held firm and turned defence into attack from a scrum on their 22 metres.

Arthur Morgan ran 60 metres but was stopped with five metres to go, the ball found Smith who bagged Kidderminster’s fifth try and made the half time score 25-3

KCs kept the momentum going five minutes after the restart Tom Maher broke from the base of the scrum and passed to Chris Pinner, he transferred to Kieran James who ran strongly towards the try line before passing inside to Scott Lovell who scored.

Evesham took advantage of some scrappy KCs play with an unconverted try but the hosts responded quickly when their scrum pushed Evesham off the ball five metres out and Tom Maher scored from the pushover.

Jess Smith added another try and man-of-the-match Chris Pinner added the only successful conversion of the game to make the final score 42-10.

Next Saturday Carolians travel to Kenilworth for a 3pm kick off.
