A PRO-BREXIT campaign group in Herefordshire say that county residents just want the government to "get on" with leaving the EU.

Herefordshire For Brexit activist and Veteran Sarah Rogan, dressed in suffragette costume with medals, joined the March To Leave in Nottinghamshire on Sunday.

Led in many locations by former UKIP leader Nigel Farage, the march which started in Sunderland will end in London on March 29, the day Britain was due to leave the European Union.

"I was amazed at the level of support we encountered from motorists, householders and passers-by," Ms Rogan said.

"Despite the large remain march in London last Saturday, most ordinary British folk seem to have hardened in their opinion that Britain should leave the EU."

And the campaign group said the same mood was reflected in Herefordshire.

"When we canvassed shoppers in High Town last weekend, 94 per cent of those who took part stated a preference for a no-deal Brexit against the alternative options of delaying Brexit or voting again," said a Herefordshire For Brexit spokesperson.

"This included several Remain voters who just want the government to get on with it."

Campaigners from Hereford will be joining groups from across the UK in travelling to London this Friday to take their message to the government.
