VISITING restrictions have been lifted on Gilwern Ward at Hereford County Hospital.

The Trust closed the ward to visitors following a confirmed case of norovirus at the end of last week.

However, it still remains very important that any visitors with diarrhoea or vomiting do not visit the hospital until they have been free of symptoms for 48 hours.

Visitors are also requested to practice good hand hygiene and use the alcohol gels available in all wards and departments.

The visiting restrictions were put in place to protect patients as part of the Trust’s zero tolerance approach to healthcare associated infections.

Wye Valley NHS Trust thanks all patients and visitors for their understanding during this period
