DEVELOPERS want to build five detached homes on a county village field.
R S Preece & Son has asked Herefordshire Council for permission to develop land next to The Field House on Almeley Road in Eardisley.
The proposal includes a mixture of four, three and two bed homes and those working for the scheme say it complies with the local neighbourhood development plan.
However, public right of way officers have objected to the scheme because it shows a footpath crossing the drives of proposed properties which is not acceptable.
And John Winterfeld, local Ramblers footpath secretary, also raised concerns.
“Between the proposed road and the field boundary to the east runs a footpath.
“This must not be fenced in, and must be kept clear at all times during development.”
Residents have until May 12 to have their say on the plans which are expected to be considered by May 28.
