AN EMERGENCY road closure has been put in place on the A4110 this afternoon.
Herefordshire Council said the road was closed following a crash, which took place at Knapton between Bush Bank and Stretford.
An ambulance service spokesperson said paramedics were called to reports of a single car crash just after 2pm.
The car had left the road and hit a fence before crashing into an oil tank at a property in Knapton, causing significant damage to both the car and the tank.
The female driver of the car was treated by paramedics at the scene for injuries that are not believed to be life threatening and has been taken to hospital by ambulance.
A fire service spokesperson said that firecrews from Kingsland and Hereford were called to the scene at 2.23pm.
Firefighters remain on site to deal with the leak from the domestic oil tank and an environmental protection unit from Stourport-on-Severn is currently en route to the crash scene.
The road is expected to remain closed for several hours while emergency services deal with the crash and the oil spill.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
