YOUNGSTER at Busy Bees met a VIP bear this week, in Queen's Walk gardens, and began a life-long journey towards a love of books.
None other than the famous Bookstart Bear was waiting for the youngsters when they left their base at the nearby Hive, the former youth centre off Bye Street, for a tea party outdoors.
Bookstart gives free books to every child in England and Wales at two key stages before school, as well as free packs, tips and guidance on reading together, resources and activities.
Bookstart "aims to encourage a love of books, stories and rhymes in children from as young an age as possible".
And they don't get much younger, of course, than the pre-school children at Busy Bees.
