LEOMINSTER residents have been warned by police not to buy items from cold callers at the door.
West Mercia Police have received numerous reports of ‘Nottingham knockers’ in the Leominster area. Police describe them as individuals who are selling cloths and dusters door to door, describing themselves as belonging to a rehabilitation scheme for young offenders.
Sellers show copies of a Hawkers licence which has their full details on. Leominster safer neighbourhood team said this is obviously not proof of identification as there is no photo) and if in doubt, not to buy from cold callers.
Anyone with any issues should call police on 101.
