NORTH Herefordshire MP Bill Wiggin has pledged his support to Boris Johnson as the Conservative Party seeks to elect a new leader.
Either Mr Johnson or Jeremy Hunt will take the place of Theresa May as Prime Minister when members of the Tory members vote in the coming weeks.
And Mr Wiggin says he supported Mr Johnson because he wants to win the next General Election.
"Over the past few weeks we have seen Conservative leadership candidates debating to secure the best future for our country," he told the Hereford Times.
"I voted for Mark Harper and then for Boris Johnson because I do not want the Labour Party to win the next election.
"Boris has promised us that we will leave the European Union by October 31, and unless we do this it will be difficult for those who have blocked Brexit to face the electorate."
The Hereford Times has asked Jesse Norman, the MP for Hereford and South Herefordshire, to see who he is backing and is awaiting a response.
