A bronze ring which was found in north Herefordshire qualifies as treasure.
A RING found in north Herefordshire, which could be more than 3,000 years old, qualifies as treasure, a coroner ruled.
The bronze age penannular ring was found by James Ayres when he was using his metal detector in the north of the county.
The inquest heard similar gold rings, which could date back as far as 1300 BC, have been found in Norfolk
The British Museum examined the ring after it was found in September 2017. To qualify as treasure, an item must be at least 300 years old and made of 10% precious metal.
Herefordshire coroner Mark Bricknell concluded that the ring qualified as treasure.
