A CLOSE-KNIT community has helped its hospice by creating an eye-catching gift.
The newly-formed Creative Crafts Group meets monthly at the Salem Baptist Chapel in Longtown and their first project was to knit six-inch squares to make a blanket.
In total, a dozen people helped knit the item, which has been donated to St Michael's Hospice in Hereford.
'Everyone worked so hard to get these completed and had some fun along the way which made the whole project so worthwhile,' said Wendy Pritchard-Lockett, one of the group's members.
'As well as knitting and then stitching, some crocheting was also completed to edge the blankets.'
Two smaller blankets and two cushions were also made.
Wendy and her husband, Phil Lockett, were among the organisers of the Caldicot Male Voice Choir concert in Ewyas Harold earlier this year which raised £2,725 for St Michael's.
The knitting group's work was displayed there on the night.
The Creative Crafts Group will begin meeting again in September at the Salem Baptist Church on the first Monday of each month from 6.30pm. Everyone welcome.
