A CAR crashed through a wall and ended up upside down millimetres from a house in Rowley Regis in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday).

Fire crews were called to the crash at 4.55am today (August 20) to find a car in the garden of a property on Oldbury Road.

Police have not traced the driver, who fled the scene.

Crews from Oldbury and Haden Cross were called to the scene.

Oldbury Fire Station revealed on Twitter that the driver had a miracle escape and nobody was injured in the incident.

They did warn commuters to expect additional traffic as the clean up takes place this morning.

Firefighters tweeted: "At 4:55am, D011 and crews from Haden Cross attended this vehicle collision.

"Fortunately, no one was injured. Crews made scene safe and assisted police.

"Vehicle was millimetres from touching the property!

"Possible disruption to Oldbury Road this morning #alternativeroute."

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said: "Police were called to reports of a car colliding with a wall on Oldbury Road at around 4:50am this morning (20 August).

"The driver left the scene.

"Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact police via Live Chat at www.west-midlands.police.uk between 8am and midnight or call 101 anytime."
