A MAN has been given a suspended prison sentence after being found in possession of a machete.
Dale Hardman, from Grove Park, Wormbridge, also had a throwing knife and a side handle baton.
The 37-year-old pleaded guilty to having the three weapons in a public place when he appeared before Hereford Magistrates Court.
Hardman also admitted possessing cannabis.
The court was told that Hardman was found with the weapons "without good reason or lawful authority" in the village of Wormbridge.
He was given a four-month prison sentence which was suspended for 12 months.
Hardman must also pay a victim's surcharge of £120.
The weapons, the court heard, would be disposed of by West Mercia Police.
