ON August 16 a fundraising event was held for St Dubricius Church at The Court by kind consent of Mr and Mrs Jay.
The summer drinks took place on one of the wettest evenings this summer.
Hard working neighbours either stood in the rain parking cars, or those inside manned the entrance, stalls, and bar, sold raffle tickets, produced copious and the most lovely canapes - nobody went hungry.
The weather did nothing to dampen the spirits or generosity of those attending or donating, the final total reaching £4,400.
Organisers wish to extend their thanks to all those who gave their time and efforts, also to those that generously donated, helping to raise such a total.
