Award-winning creators of The Time Machine and Austen's Women Dyad Productions return to The Courtyard stage to present Orlando.

Orlando is the life-affirming, comedic tale of an immortal poet, whose gender cannot be pinned down, whose spirit cannot be caged, and whose irreverent, romantic adventures across British history – from the 1500s to the present day – provide a magic-realist exploration of human identity; personal, sexual and national.

Dyad Productions create, produce and tour innovative yet classic theatre with a contemporary relevance. With emphasis on new writing and radical interpretations of existing text, Dyad builds new narrative paradigms that secure the emotional and intellectual engagement between audience and performer.

Rebecca Vaughan is no stranger to The Courtyard stage having presented Austen’s Women in 2015. Rebecca trained at ALRA drama school following a degree in English Literature at Cardiff University. She joined Dyad Productions as a writer and performer and credits have included Jane Eyre: An Autobiography, Dalloway and I, Elizabeth.

Drawing on a decade’s worth of critically acclaimed theatre-making, Dyad Productions explore what it means to find our place in the world whilst remaining utterly true to who we are in Orlando, based on the satirical 1928 novel by Virginia Woolf.

Audiences can upgrade their ticket for £7.95 and enjoy prosecco and sweet treats during the interval.

Orlando will be in The Courtyard’s Main House on Monday 16 September at 7.30pm. To book tickets, or for more information contact the Box Office on 01432 340555 or visit www.courtyard.org.uk.
