KIDDERMINSTER'S final match of the season in the Birmingham and District Premier League saw them beat West Bromwich Dartmouth by just one run after as low-scoring nail-biter of a clash at Chester Road.

After winning the toss, home captain Neil Pinner chose to bat but his decision looked dubious as his batsmen lost wickets regularly with only Charlie Stainforth (31) looking vaguely comfortable. The final score was 127 all out in 41.1 overs.

West Bromwich Dartmouth lost their first two wickets in the third over, followed two more in the 11th, all to Liam Weston (4 for 17 from 10 overs). Again, wickets fell regularly with Connor Smith (2 for 33) and Barney Morgan (1 for 26) chipping in to leave the visitors on 62 for 7.

A frustrating stand of 43 for the eighth wicket lifted the score to 105 giving the visitors hope but the introduction of Charlie Stainforth (3 for 20) to the attack saw him polish off the tail leaving Dartmouth stranded one run short on 126 all out in 39.1 overs.
