MAINTAINING good sexual health should be as routine as visiting your GP or dentist, Herefordshire Council have said.

Herefordshire’s inclusive sexual health services were highlighted as part of a week-long awareness campaign to throw light on the subject.

The council said the services are available to all residents, regardless of age, ethnicity, gender or sexuality

The council met with Solutions 4 Health, who provide the services, to support sexual health week, which finishes on Sunday.

The free and confidential services are available at the clinic on St Owen Street, Hereford, as well as online.

It includes information and advice on all types of contraception, as well as testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

Karen Wright, Director of Public Health for Herefordshire said: “Sexual health is an important part of people’s physical and emotional wellbeing and maintaining good sexual health should be as routine to people as visiting their GP or dentist.

“Herefordshire’s sexual health service offers improved access via the clinic at 15 St Owen Street and online, enabling residents to have better control over their sexual health.”

Stan Thompson, Director of Strategy, Solutions 4 Health, said: “We’re proud to support Herefordshire residents with their sexual health and wellbeing.

"Our friendly discrete service offers free, non-judgemental, confidential advice, information and treatment to people of all ages, including those with disabilities through our clinic and our website."

“Our new modern clinic also includes a large ground floor consultation room, so it’s easily accessible for people with disabilities.”
