THE largest display of County tractors in Wales assembled at the Maesygelli showfield in Wales to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the marque.

Drawing the crowds despite the showery weather, the display was the idea of the Tractor Enthusiasts of Nantmel (TEN club) in conjunction with the Nantmel Show committee, and aimed to honour the marque in its 90th year.

It attracted tractors from a wide area, with some coming from as far as Ammanford and Craven Arms, with more locally based ones from Rhayader, Saint Harmon, Llidiartywaun, New Radnor, Bettws and Glasbury.

All types and models where exhibited, including the County Crawler owned by Raymond Rees that won the John and Anne Bates Trophy for the County the judge would like to take home, the superbly restored County Super 6 owned by Gareth Morris of Bettws that took best restored County, and Robb Morgan’s County Super Four which took the best unrestored County.

In the vintage tractor class, New Radnor’s John Hardwick won the most original class with his David Brown VAK1, while John Drew of Gwystre won the best restored with his Massey Ferguson 35.

In the classic tractor class, Gwystre’s Mark Thomas won the best restored classic with his David Brown 995.
