TWO people were injured in a crash that closed one lane of the M50 near Ledbury on Sunday afternoon.

A fire service spokesperson said crews from Ross-on-Wye and Ledbury fire stations were called to the single car crash on the M50 between junctions two and three at 1.30pm.

Lane one of the eastbound carriageway was closed while emergency services dealt with the crash.

The lane has since been reopened.

Two casualties were assessed by paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital by land ambulance.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We sent one ambulance and two paramedic officers to the scene. On arrival we discovered two patients.

"A man, who was the front seat passenger, was treated for potentially serious injuries and transported to Worcester Royal Hospital whilst the driver, a woman, was discharged on scene."
