A ROUND-UP of cases heard by the magistrates over the last week. The details published below are from official publicly available court registers.

NOVEMBER 4

Anthony James Smith, 58, of River View, Ross On Wye, admitted carrying an orange handled knife in a sheath without good reason in a public place and using threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour with intent to cause alarm or distress at Bennett's Garage on July 10.

Smith was handed a 24 month conditional discharge and made subject to a restraining order for an indefinite term. He must pay costs of £300 and a £21 victim surcharge.

Krzysztof Rodak, 41, of Hunderton Avenue, Hereford, pleaded guilty one charge of drunk and disorderly behaviour at The Kerry public house in Hereford on November 3.

Rodak was fined £50 and must pay costs of £50.

OCTOBER 31

Johnathan Richard Harrison, 36, of Newtown Road, Hereford, admitted stealing alcohol worth £14 from Tesco on October 1.

He pleaded guilty to further thefts of alcohol worth £90 from Tesco on October 7, £80 from Sainsbury's on October 8, and £40 from Sainsbury's on October 10.

Harrison was handed a 12 month community order, fined £60, and must pay a £90 victim surcharge,

Stephen Gerald Howells, 55, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to breaching a restraining order banning him from an address in Kington.

Howells was fined £233 and must pay a £32 victim surcharge.

OCTOBER 30

Grzegorz Pliszko, 33, of Canal Road, Hereford, admitted failing to comply with the requirements of a suspended sentence order made in March this year.

Pliszko was committed to prison for four months, suspended for 18 months, and must pay costs of £60.

Jane Hanson, 49, of Appletree Close, Hereford, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in Bromyard on October 11.

Hanson was fined £40 and must pay costs of £135.

Matthew Rupert Cormac Shore, 47, of Hunderton Road, Hereford, was banned from the road after he was caught drink-driving on Bowley Lane, Risbury.

Shore was found to have 85 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when he was breathalysed on October 11.

He also admitted resisting a police officer in the execution of his duty.

He was disqualified from driving for 20 months and fined a total of £333. He must also pay costs of £135 and a £32 victim surcharge.

Linas Jakstas, 24, of Orchard Road, Malvern, was banned from the road after he was caught drink-driving on the A449 near Ledbury.

He was found to have 86 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when breathalysed on October 14.

Jakstas was disqualified from driving for 20 months and fined £280. He must also pay costs of £135 and a £32 victim surcharge.

Algirdas Mikelenas, 35, of Foley Street, Hereford, admitted being drunk and disorderly on Whitecross Road on October 9.

Mikelenas was handed a 12 month conditional discharge and must pay costs of £135 and a £21 victim surcharge.

Jordan Boswell, 26, of Selby Avenue, Oldham, admitted sending threatening text messages, damaging property to the value of £585 including a television, a window catch, a net curtain wire, cups and a duvet belonging to the Three Counties Hotel, Hereford, and causing £445 worth of damage to clothing and shoes belonging to a woman between August 6 and 9.

Boswell was handed a 12 month community order and made subject to a 12 month restraining order. He must pay compensation of £873, costs of £185 and a £90 victim surcharge.

Ian Andrew Donnelly, 57, of The Hamlet, Stoke Edith, was hit with a fine after he was caught driving at 36 miles per hour in a 30 zone in Blackpill, Wales.

Donnelly was fined £183 and received three points on his licence. He must also pay costs of £60.
