LEDBURY Town Council is hoping for a good turnout of local residents for a crunch meeting to decide whether or not a major new estate should be built to the north of the viaduct.

A bone of contention for many Ledbury and Wellington Heath residents is that Bloor homes proposed new 625 home estate would have single access and egress off the Bromyard Road.

The fear is this could cause traffic jams and other problems on an already busy road, and also rat-running down local lanes.

Town and county councillor, Liz Harvey said: "Last month council officers refused to revert the wording of the access policy for this site to its original requirement for primary access via the Hereford Road roundabout - despite the overwhelming 95 per cent 'no' response to the 'is the access satisfactory' question posed in the parish poll in August."

She added: "The decision on this important matter falls to the Herefordshire Council Planning Committee, which is hearing this application on Wednesday November 13, at 10am in The Shire Hall, Hereford."

The planning committee will go on site visit on November 12, at around 10am.
