Hereford Food Bank have teamed up with one of the city’s supermarkets as they try to keep their stocks topped up.
The new partnership means there will be a collection point in store for donated goods
“The scheme is a cooperate measure from Sainsbury’s, it’s in nearly all stores across the company,” Ellie Bowers, from the supermarket in Barton Yard, said.
“It enables our customers to feel like they’re able to help out with donating food even if they don’t have time to go to an actual food bank themselves.”
Food bank manager Jacquie Alsop and a small team of volunteers collect the food to use in parcels, distributed to those in need.
