A WOMAN has been taken to hospital after a crash on the A49 in south Herefordshire this afternoon.

An ambulance service spokesperson said paramedics were called to reports of a two-car crash at the junction of the A49 and the A4137 near Pengethley at 2.17pm.

One ambulance and paramedic officer were sent to the scene of the crash.

The woman had got out of her vehicle by herself and was treated for injuries that are not believed to be serious before being taken to Hereford County Hospital for further treatment.

Firefighters from Ross-on-Wye were also called to the crash to make the cars safe.
