A DEVELOPER has revealed revised plans for a controversial new housing scheme in Odsal.

And a public exhibition is being held to explain them to the local community.

Caddick Land put forward plans for a mix of around 150 family homes on land south of Rooley Crescent last year, but a decision on the site was deferred by Bradford Council’s Regulatory and Appeals Committee last month.

Officers had recommended the plans be refused, as they could interfere with a park and ride scheme proposed for land next to the site.

Caddick has now returned with an amended plan - the proposed park and ride entrance has now been incorporated into the proposals.

A public exhibition will be held on Monday at The Cedar Court Hotel Mayo Avenue between 2pm and 7pm where members of the project team will be on hand to answer any queries.

Included in the masterplan is a new wildlife corridor that will be accessible by both new and existing residents.

Caddick says this area of the site will provide recreation and education opportunities with information about the area’s "enhanced environment and biodiversity."

Chris Procter from Caddick Land said: “Following a clear steer from Planning Committee Members in December, we have amended the plans to ensure that they will not impact on the future delivery of the park and ride site next to our proposals.

"We would encourage as many people as possible to attend our public exhibition and find out more about the revised scheme.

“Our hope is that the planning application will go back positively to the Council’s Planning Committee in the next few months so we can deliver much needed new family homes for the area.”
