I was shocked to read in the Hereford Times that more than 600 Herefordians are destined for an early death from the toxicity of our air from car pollution.
At 3pm after reading the article I walked along Broadlands Lane, Hereford.
There were 30 parked cars waiting to collect their children. Ten of the parked cars had their dirty diesel engines running.
I’m assuming this was to keep the inappropriately-clad drivers warm on this bitterly cold afternoon.
I suggest the mithridate [remedy] for this careless, ignorant behaviour is a total ban on cars within at least two miles of the school gate.
