Hereford 42 Kidderminster Carolians 8

KC started brightly playing the first five minutes in the Hereford half and after five minutes were awarded a penalty which Andy McLellan slotted over from 35 metres. Andy came close with another penalty attempt soon after.

Hereford started to come into their own and scored three tries one converted. KC were still battling well and putting their own pressure on Hereford, eventually their reward came with a powerful push-over try claimed by Dave Kane. This took the half-time score to 17-8 to Hereford.

Yellow cards were given to Mayer and Rigsby and for a period KC were down to 13 men. Rigsby was only on the pitch long enough to take part in one set scrum, apparently his position had received a warning earlier in the game.

KC competed well in the set scrums against a heavy pack and they made their presence felt in the loose play against the Hereford forwards. This mobility in the loose has been a pattern of KC play this season. All the forwards played well with Rhys Kay and Simon Clarke putting in their usual good work rate.

In the second half Hereford scored four further tries two against the run of play. Standout players for KC in defence were Will Fallows, Tom Mayer and Will Roff.

KC played throughout the game with their usual spirit; however ended the game with several walking wounded.
