FORGET Aquaman – more a case of Aquawoman for Runcorn resident Amy French.

The 29-year-old is delighted to have passed her Swimming Teachers' Association (STA) Level 2 Award in Aquatic teaching for baby and pre-school children with Puddle Ducks.

Deciding to take the 'plunge' from her previous job as a schoolteacher, she explained that it was taking her five-week-old boy Oliver to Puddle Ducks’ swimming lessons that made her fall in love with the concept and teaching methods which aided the inspiration behind her career change.

"He fell asleep through his entire first floaties lesson, so I knew he was going to take after his mummy for his love of swimming, as he appeared to be very relaxed in the water," she said.

"Becoming a swimming teacher seemed such a natural career change, combining swimming which I love, with being able to still continue to work with children.

“Joining the Puddle Ducks team was the best decision I have made. It really was the light I needed at a time where I was unsure what to do with my career. It works beautifully around my family, and I just love it.”

Rachel Bateson, franchise manager of Puddle Ducks Mid-Cheshire, added that Amy is a 'natural'.

Puddle Ducks provides award winning swimming classes for children from birth to aged 10.
