POLICE in Herefordshire are warning parents not to allow their children to break the lockdown rules.

They say children not in school are the responsibility of parents/carers.

"Letting your child break the lockdown rules could be deemed as neglectful," police said in a social media post today.

"If this is identified by police we will take action and make referrals to partner agencies’ to safeguard your children, where you have failed to do so.

"Remember, this is a not a holiday, It's a lockdown."

Parks and popular places for older children to meet such as Hereford Skatepark are now closed.
