A CLUBGOER has been hit with a fine after losing his temper on a night out.

Paul Anthony Chamberlain, of Lichfield Avenue, Hereford, admitted using threatening or abusive behaviour when he appeared before magistrates in Hereford.

He also admitted breaching the conditions of a 24-week suspended sentence imposed on June.

Prosecutor Shafquat Reaz told the court that police had seen Chamberlain seen shouting and swearing at people and nightclub staff at a premises in Commercial Road, Hereford, at about half past midnight on March 1.

Officers intervened and asked him to stop, but he was arrested after he continued, kicking bottles and signs over while shouting and swearing at people.

Speaking in his own defence, Chamberlain said he knew his behaviour had been out of order.

“I was intoxicated, and I apologise,” he told magistrates.

“There is no real good reason for my behaviour.

“The nightclub staff had told me to go home and get changed into appropriate clothing, and said they would then let me in. I asked if I could see the manager, but he pushed me and I got angry.”

The 47-year-old said he had problems with depression and anxiety and was very sorry for the way in which he had behaved.

Chamberlain was fined £80. He must pay costs of £135 and a £32 victim surcharge.
