In the Hereford Times on April 30 we were trying to find out more details about this picture taken in Bromyard’s Market Square.
We had no details about the picture, but thought it was a May Day event held in the town.
But it turns out the gathering and maypole dance was actually for the Queen’s Silver Jubilee in 1977, taken after the service held in the square, one resident said.
After the dancing from the town’s Brownies group, there was also a fancy dress parade where the winners were given a silver jubilee spoon.
