TWO more deaths from coronavirus have been recorded at the Wye Valley NHS Trust, the latest figures show.

While deaths can take several days to be recorded, with the two announced today occurring on May 19 and 22.

NHS England figures show 50 people have now died in hospital at Wye Valley NHS Trust as of 5pm on Tuesday (May 26).

The victims were among 38 new deaths reported across the midlands today. Across England, 183 new deaths were announced today (Wednesday).

But as death counts are revised each day, with each case backdated to the actual date of death, it means some deaths deaths can take several days to be included in the daily figures.

NHS England guidance states: "Confirmation of Covid-19 diagnosis, death notification and reporting in central figures can take up to several days and the hospitals providing the data are under significant operational pressure."

Only deaths that occur in hospitals where the patient has tested positive for Covid-19 are recorded, with deaths in the community excluded, such as those in care homes.
