A NEW website is inviting people across Oxfordshire to share the positive changes they have made to their lives during lockdown.

The Learning from Lockdown page has been set up by Oxford Friends of the Earth.

The group are encouraging people to tell their stories and share pictures that they hope will build a unique set of 'snapshots of change' in the county.

They are specifically keen to find out which changes people have made that they now want to stick with.

Chris Church of Oxford FOE said: "We have all been through some massive changes in the last two months.

"Some of us have very sadly lost friends and family.

"Now we want to ‘build back better’.

"We need a recovery from this crisis that doesn’t just see us ‘get back to normal’ but gives us a chance to create a healthier and greener society.

"We know that there are stories to tell and lessons to be learned out there.

Oxford Mail:

"We invite people to share their stories and to help create a lasting record of the changes that we have made.

"It may be about what you do in your home or your surroundings, or maybe it’s something that a friend or neighbour has done that has inspired you.”

OxFoE are asking some simple questions:

• Are there changes that you are going through that will stay with you?

• Are there differences in your lifestyle that you would like to see last beyond the 'lockdown' and become a permanent part of your life?

• What have you learned, done or valued during this time?

• What’s been good for you, for your community – and for our environment?

Oxford Friends of the Earth said it would also be writing to all of the city's councillors and MPs, urging them to ensure that national and local recovery plans have positive impacts on tackling climate change.

Mr Church said: "We will use the best ideas and stories as part of that report.

"We will show how people across the county are making changes and really do want us to ‘build back better’."
