NO patients have died at the Wye Valley NHS Trust after testing positive for coronavirus for more than two weeks, the latest figures show.

NHS England data shows as of 5pm on Monday (July 6) 56 people had died at the Wye Valley NHS Trust, with the most recent death occurring on Sunday, June 21.

Across the midlands, 5,776 patients have now died from coronavirus in hospital, an increase of five from the previous day.

The death toll in hosptials across Englands now stands at 28,939, up from 28,903 on Sunday.

Daily death counts are revised each day, with each case backdated to the actual date of death.

This means some of the deaths that were first recorded in the last 24 hours may actually have taken place days earlier.

NHS England guidance states: "Confirmation of Covid-19 diagnosis, death notification and reporting in central figures can take up to several days and the hospitals providing the data are under significant pressure."
