THE Workhouse History Centre at Llanfyllin will open its doors from August 1 as lockdown restrictions are eased, bosses at the popular attraction have confirmed.

Visitors will be welcome, but as with many attractions they will have to make an appointment in advance.

The History Centre is compact and only one household group (or two if they have formed a ‘bubble’) will be allowed inside at a time.

Much of the building will remain closed, though visitors should be able to follow a route around the site. Social distancing will have to be observed.

Everyone can enjoy a virtual tour of the interior by viewing the film Ghosts of the Workhouse which lasts half an hour. Hand sanitiser stations have been set up for all users and regular cleaning is being carried out.

Anyone who would like to visit Y Dolydd and the History Centre is asked to email history@llanfyllinworkhouse.org or telephone 01691 860549, giving as much notice as possible.

The Bunkhouse at the Workhouse will be open too, but only to family groups.
