A SNAKE made out of more than 500 painted pebbles is to become a permanent fixture.

The project was started during lockdown by Rhuddlan resident Beth Davies and her son Mathew.

The creation has now been glued and varnished and is located at the entrance to Rhuddlan library.

Cllr Ann Davies, county councillor and town councillor for Rhuddlan, said: "Residents and children of Rhuddlan have been busy painting pebbles to create this snake. The work of art was placed loosely around the library area and residents were asking for the creation to be made a permanent feature.

"I obtained permission from Denbighshire County Council and Rhuddlan Town Council kindly funded the project. Rhuddlan Library were also fully supportive of this work.

"This has been a wonderful idea, showing support for the NHS and key workers during this particularly difficult time.

"I would like to thank all those who participated in this project and all those who painted the pebbles.
