IF you are travelling further afield this weekend it is worth bearing in mind that the M42 is closed this weekend at the junction with the M6 Toll road.
The section of road, near Solihull, closed between junctions 6 and 7A northbound and 7 and 6 southbound at around 8pm last night.
Diversions will be in place, but drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible.
The motorway is due to reopen on Monday morning.
The road is being closed to allow a 2,700-tonne bridge to be moved into place which will carry the A452 over the M42.
The M42 is going to be shut over the weekend, so please be safe and be prepared, plan ahead to avoid too much chaos...🚗🚘🚗
