A clergyman will play a traditional bagpipes tune to mark the 75th anniversary of VJ Day.
Rev Sean Semple, rector of Ross-on-Wye, will join in with hundreds of pipers around the world who will play Battle’s O’er on Saturday, August 15. The march, which was traditionally played at the end of a battle, will officially start the day of commemoration in the town. Rev Semple will be playing the pipes from the tower of St Mary’s Church at 6am. He will play again at 10.30am ahead of two minutes’ silence at 11am.
