SIR – I am writing to express my frustration at the impact of the roadworks in St John’s.
I have written to the county council team asking for a justification for the disruption and asking what consultation has taken place.
It appears the works are designed to improve traffic flow and the people consulted were the Road Haulage Association and First bus!
Not the pedestrians, bus users, shop owners, residents, parents, cyclists nor disabled groups, all of whom have to try and negotiate the mess that is now the centre of St John’s!
Neighbours have written to Robin Walker only to receive identical unsatisfactory responses and I have held off from writing before because I didn’t want to be seen to bring politics into this but it is really about time St John’s people were listened to!
