SIR – The multi-million pound plans for Lowesmoor certainly look ambitious as featured in the Worcester News on Thursday.
It’s an area of the city which could do with regeneration.
But given the current situation with the coronavirus pandemic, one has to question if a plan for bars, restaurants and cafes should even be on the agenda.
The hospitality sector is collapsing all around us with many city bars and restaurants facing a tough year – and no end yet in sight.
They will need our support throughout next year to ensure survival before we start to contemplate the chances of new bars and eateries opening.
Also, it would be very good to know what type of bars and cafes the developer proposes.
Let’s face it, plans for the St Martin’s quarter looked great on paper but we ended up with discount stores, betting shops and another Costa, hardly really needed in the city.
