A WREXHAM art student has celebrated the interest in the town's football club with a work of art.

The parody piece by Beth shows Deadpool in a Wrexham AFC shirt.

It's all because Holywood actors and producers Ryan Reynolds, who starred as the Marvel anti-hero Deadpool in two blockbuster movies, and Rob McElhenney have expressed an interested in investing in the club.

The news, which has the whole town buzzing, inspired Beth Spendel to create the image.

Beth, 23, who lives in Llangollen, said: "I have been studying art for eight years and I’ve just started my fourth and final year at Glyndwr University, studying MDES Game Art. I was born and raised in Wrexham and I spend most of my time in the town.

"My portfolio includes concept art, illustrations, fan-art and more. I’ve been doing commissioned work for six plus years which include comic book, realistic, cartoon and even traditional art. My primary source of clientele comes from online networking.

"I have never been a sports fan, however I am a big fan of both Ryan and Rob’s work. Wrexham has always been a little known town to anybody outside of Wales, or even South Wales.

"Even the possibility of two big names investing in Wrexham AFC is amazing news for those who want to put Wrexham on the map."
