October is the month for apples
Whilst I applaud the sentiments expressed in last week’s Hereford Times regarding buying local fruit, I would like to point out that at certain times recently there were no English apples for sale in local supermarkets.
Personally, I was embarrassed that we could provide produce to feed the fruit pickers with familiar meals but we couldn’t buy the stuff they had travelled all this way to pick for us.
