THESE are the latest figures for the seven-day rate of new Covid-19 cases for every local authority area in Wales.

The figures, for the seven days to October 15, are based on tests carried out in NHS Wales laboratories and those conducted on Welsh residents processed in commercial laboratories.

The rate is expressed as the number of new cases per 100,000 people.

Data for the most recent four days (October 16-19) has been excluded as it is incomplete and understates the true number of cases.

The list shows that Wrexham has had the fifth highest number of new cases in Wales with 263. Only Cardiff, Rhonda Cynon Taf, Swansea, and Bridgend had more new positive tests.

The rate of new cases in Wrexham, over the latest seven-day period, is 193.4 per 100,000 people, which is the fifth highest in Wales behind Cardiff, Merthyr Tydfil, Bridgend, and Rhonda Cynon Taf.

Flintshire has seen a decrease in new cases with 237 compared to 290 during the previous period. It's seven-day rate is 151.8 per 100,000 people.
