TWO staff members from a Wrexham company got on their bikes for Cancer Research.

ZF’s Mark Boden, purchasing manager, and Lloyd Williams, HR officer, at ZF on Wrexham Industrial Estate hit the roads as they tackled 300 miles of cycling in September to support Cancer Research UK.

As the cause is close to both of the pair’s hearts, the two dedicated ZF team members took to their bikes most days of the month, with Williams also taking on a 100km ride alongside his brother.

With cancer survival rates doubling over the past 40 years, it is important that the charity receives much-needed funds to carry out consistent research using innovative technology. The charity’s goal is to carry out ground-breaking work to help prevent, diagnose and treat cancer, while ultimately further improving survival rates.

Enthusiastic about their achievement, Mark said: “Thank you to everyone who found the time to donate and increase the money available to help us beat this terrible disease, which by now has touched many of us in our lives in one way or another. I lost my Dad and Father-in-Law to cancer and in recent times have seen friends and colleagues battle the disease in the bravest way.”

Lloyd added: “I pedaled harder than ever because I wanted to raise money for life-saving research and help to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Every penny made a huge difference to vital cancer research, so we thank everyone who has showed support by donating to our pages.”
