HERE are the latest figures for the seven-day rate of new coronavirus cases for every local authority area in Wales.

The figures, for the seven days to October 19, are based on tests carried out in NHS Wales laboratories and those conducted on Welsh residents processed in commercial laboratories.

The rate is expressed as the number of new cases per 100,000 people.

Data for the most recent four days (October 20-23) has been excluded as it is incomplete and understates the true number of cases.

Wrexham has recorded the fourth highest number of cases in Wales during the seven-day period with 297. Only Cardiff with 1,233, Rhonda Cynon Taf with 712, and Neath Port Talbot with 331 had more.

However, Wrexham's seven-day rate is 218.5 new cases per 100,000 people, the sixth highest in Wales.

Flintshire had 235 new cases and a weekly rate of 150.5 during the same period.

Anglesey had one of the biggest increase in seven-day rates rising from 68.5 per 100,000 people the previous week to 119.9.
