1. Sitara

Set in Ledbury's High Street, Sitara scored highly with Tripadvisor reviewers, with 467 of 512 visitors rating it excellent or very good.

"Delicious from start to finish," wrote lizausden.

"Getting husband to an Indian restaurant is difficult as he isn't keen on spice, which in itself makes last night a huge success!

"We were sat upstairs which was very pleasant amongst old wooden beams and plenty of socially distant diners giving the place a buzz. Sanitiser on each table and staff wearing gloves and some also with masks.

RELATED INFORMATION:

"Chutney tray good including finely cut tomato and onion (much easier to eat than large chunks) and tamarind. The poppadoms were very crisp and not at all greasy.

"Both mains were new to us and both delicious. For the first time ever my husband also enjoyed both. He described mine as complex although a bit too spicy for him (he still went back for 2nds of mine though). We shared very good kashmiri pilau.

"Overall one of the best meals of this type we have had anywhere. Wish we lived closer and it would be our go to favourite."

Ledbury Reporter: Cafe Zam Zam, Ross-on-WyeCafe Zam Zam, Ross-on-Wye

2. Cafe Zam Zam

Ross-on-Wye's Cafe Zam Zam is also highly rated, with 239 of its 271 reviewers rating it excellent or very good.

Jasert, who visited the High Street restaurant in September, wrote: "A special offer of £13.95 for a meal seems too good to be true in most Indian restaurants and you might expect the choice to be limited but not at Zam Zam. You can choose poppadoms and chutney, a curry of your choice, together with any rice or naan bread from their regular menu for this price - the only restriction being if you wanted a dish with king prawns there was an extra £2 to pay.

"It wasn't very busy as we were eating early (6pm) so the service was very good, the food arrived in a timely manner and was very tasty. I could be critical and say the food wasn't piping hot but it was certainly warm enough and the plates were warm!

"They do not serve alcohol but you can take your own."

3. Taste of India

This West Street restaurant in Leominster hit the right notes for many diners, with 177 of its 200 Tripadvisor reviewers rating it excellent or very good.

"The best food and service," wrote Asbtjb.

"I often order a takeaway from here and looking forward to eating in again. Being a fussy vegetarian with a ridiculous spice palette the chef’s are more than willing to create the perfect dish for me. My partner (meat eater) generally hates hot food and he loves this restaurant too. They cater for what you want and it’s packed full of flavour.

"I can’t recommend the restaurant highly enough."

Ledbury Reporter: Lal Bagh, Bell Square, WeobleyLal Bagh, Bell Square, Weobley

4. Lal Bagh

Set in Weobley's Bell Square, Lal Bagh was rated excellent or very good by 233 of its 268 Tripadvisor reviewers.

"Consistently good! Highly recommended," wrote Paintedpilgrim.

"We’ve been eating here since we moved to the area about 6 months ago and the food is consistently very good. The waiting time is longer than most but I don’t mind waiting for quality food.

"I can’t understand all the bad reviews for this place as I’m very fussy about my food and tried all three Indian restaurants in Leominster when we moved here and will not eat at any of them again!

"This place is a gem, I know they get very busy and yes I’ve had to wait extra time a few times but I don’t mind as long as the end result is on point. The lamb garlic chilli I had last night was divine!! The lamb melted in my mouth and the flavours and spice were perfectly balanced.

"Highly recommend!"

Ledbury Reporter: Jalalabad, Etnam Street, LeominsterJalalabad, Etnam Street, Leominster

5. Jalalabad

Another Leominster restaurant, Etnam Street's Jalalabad is also highly rated by visitors, with 153 of it's 177 reviewers rating it excellent or very good.

"Great service and AMAZING food," wrote vincenienne.

"We visited Leominster to see family and weren't expecting to find many places open, but stumbled across this absolute gem.

"The staff were warm and friendly and the food was divine. My husband got the garlic king prawn and let me have a bit - one of the best things I've ever had (made me regret not getting a starter!). I had a chicken dish from the "specialties" menu (sorry I don't remember what is was called) and a paratha and both were fantastic.

"Highly recommended and will definitely be back."
