The Three Choirs Festival Association has announced three new appointments to its Board of Directors as it begins the search for a new Vice Chair of the organisation.

The 2020 festival was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, so the next Three Choirs Festival will take place from July 24 to July 31, 2021, in Worcester.

The three new trustees are Bruce Herriot (Hereford City Chair), Alison Marlow and Dominic Horne, who joins in an 'ex-officio' capacity through his appointment as Chair of the festival’s sibling charity, the Three Choirs Festival Society.

Following the cancellation of the 2020 festival due to COVID restrictions, the sequence of festivals has been delayed by a year and consequently Clare Wichbold, outgoing Hereford City Chair, has handed the reins over to her deputy Bruce Herriot sooner than planned, as she also announces her intention to stand down as Association Vice Chair in March.

Clare Wichbold said: “I have been involved with Three Choirs for over thirty years, as a chorus member, volunteer, and more recently, the first woman to chair a city committee and act as board member for the association. I've been lucky to be involved in some fantastic festivals and meet some great performers, both emerging talents, and established artists. I have worked with some wonderful volunteers who are committed to making the festival a success. It's important that we look to the future and involve a wide range of people to ensure the festival can continue."
